From White water rafting to Underwater Sea Walk and Scuba Diving, Bali has everything to offer you and make your backpacking memorable. This island, out of the entire 17,000 Indonesian islands has surprised tourists and attracted them to visit Bali again and again. That was my sixth visit to Bali when I planned a dive holiday in Bali during my Bali backpacking.
Bali – A place to Escape and Explore.
As we always book our hotel in Kuta Area (that’s my preferred choice as I just love to see the Kuta Beach roaring white Waves) and my preferred hotel, Adi Dharma Palace. I don’t know why, but I can’t leave this hotel. I had my favourite room and when I make my travel plan, it’s just a matter of an email. Adi Dharma books the pool-view room with balcony for me. Anyways, this time our focus was to explore Bali in a different way, we want to explore Bali as a diving backpacking destination. I was never aware that a diving backpacking experience in Bali would be an extraordinary one. Scuba Diving in Bali was a real wonder. Our sixth plan to visit Bali for a dive holiday left some unforgettable memories which I am unlocking today from my travel memories.
Bali Sunset.
We decided to go for scuba diving at TULAMBEN, Bali. This is basically a remote coastal village in East Bali. While travelling there, no one could ever imagine the invisible beauty that was lying beneath the water. In and around this village there are several diving spots and a wander for Scuba divers to explore. We booked a whole day scuba diving package activity with a local tour operator as recommended by Adi Dharma Palace hotel staffs. We were picked from Adi Dharma Palace, Kuta at 7 am. We reached the spot at around 8:15 am got ready and jump into the water to explore the underwater hidden beauty.
In 1963, when MOUNT AGUNG erupted it send a lava flow here, which later turned into a bay, called the TULAMBEN BAY. Along this bay lie some stunning scuba diving sites like USAT Liberty Cargo, Paradise Reef and Drop Off. Among all these, USAT Liberty Cargo is the main attraction for scuba divers to discover the remains of a cargo ship destroyed during World War II. Once you dive here, you will discover the entire wreck is covered with hundreds of colourful corals and tropical fishes. If you are lucky, you can even see sunfish, sea turtles and dolphins. We could not forget the underwater views, the colourful reefs and everything we saw. We spent a lot of time exploring that area unless we are satisfied that every corner of it was explored.
Beautiful Clear Water – Divers Dream.
The entire diving experience was so thrilling, that we decided to explore all the diving locations in Bali on our forthcoming visits. There are ample of diving resorts around this area especially made for people who love diving. The best part of this diving site is it is ideal for intermediate divers as well as advanced level divers. In case you don’t know diving, you can even get a diving course out there with expert divers.
We returned refreshed and we enjoyed every moment of this diving holiday in Bali.
